Amedeo Modigliani (1884-1920) was an Italian painter and sculptor. He was an important representative of Cubism and Fauvism. During his lifetime he became a legend in Paris for his talent, character, appearance and bohemian lifestyle. He produced relatively few works during his short life. The main subjects of his paintings and sculptures were female nudes and portraits with stylized facial features. Typical of him are the sharp lines creating clear outlines and the elegance emanating from his paintings.
