Coffee as decoration

29.3.

It is commonly considered that people divide into 2 categories, those who love coffee and those who prefer tea. Both coffee and tea are beverages with ancient history, and depending on cultural background, moral believes and individual preferences people usually drink either one or the other.

Coffee is considered to be an energetic drink, much preferred by people working in big corporations, people who sleep fewer hours and those who deal with a lot of stressful situations. Tea, by contrast has a reputation of drink for calm people, of those who are enjoying every moment at a moderate pace, and those who prefer sitting around with a cup of tea than drinking a quick shot of espresso. Even though, these two rough coffee and tea descriptions really define a lot of consumers, like any taboo, it has its misconception. It is rather faulty to say that people divide only into 2 groups, and that consumers of tea and coffee are very different. There are people who like tea the same way they enjoy coffee. There are people who live in a quick pace and love tea, or vice-versa. At the same time, both tea and coffee have a good amount of caffeine, therefore are both drinks that energize.

Even though, these marvelous drinks are primarily a source of exquisite taste, they are also great elements of design. Today, there are unlimited options of incorporating tea and coffee details in decoration. They are considered to bring the final tone to a room, and are especially preferred by designers working on a project of a coffee shop or a teahouse. Not always though, we can afford hiring a designer to bring our decorative ideas to reality, that’s why we put down few tips of decorating with coffee.

1. Use repetition

Continue the natural pattern of coffee beans that are visible from your coffee grounder on your wall. Use repetition at its best to make a kitchen look complete. A great example is usage of wall murals that will repeat the naturalism of your flavorful beans, creating a superb atmosphere for a true coffee lover.

2. Use bright colors

If you plan to open a cozy café, a great idea is placing outside of your newly opened place a billboard, poster or an image with really bright colors. This way you will both describe your message, but also will seriously attract the attention of new customers. As a marvelous example, you can see a reproduction of M. T. Gianola that invites people who pass by to take a moment and enjoy a sip of coffee.

3. Mix it up

Nothing can be trendier these days, than mixing new with old, expensive with cheap. Do not feel uptight and stick to only one bright color, or only wood patterns. Be creative and use more than one decoration that you like. A marvelous idea is this restaurant. Picture how the walls and chairs have a modern look and how the cupboard and poster have a slightly archaic tone. It’s a great technique that makes the environment look professional and well thought through.
